Preacher Cain
My name is Dwight Carvery. Most people know me as Preacher Cain — a name I was given in prison that stayed with me, because it points to the man I'm still becoming.
I'll be honest with you, because pretending isn't my way. I wasted more than 17 years of my life behind bars — over half my adult life. I battled addiction that nearly killed me. I knew homelessness, and I knew what it felt like to be written off as a lost cause. For a long time, I believed it myself.
Then Christ stepped in, and the chains broke. Not all at once, and not without falling along the way — but for good. That redemption isn't behind me. It's the engine that drives everything I do today.
The Turning Point
In 2013, a man named Marcus Taylor saw something in me I couldn't see in myself. He was the first person to challenge me to stop taking from my community and start giving back. When I was released, he kept his word and gave me a chance. That one act of belief changed the direction of my life.
Today I live in Amherstburg, Ontario with my partner Jenny. In December 2025 I graduated from the Addictions and Community Services Worker program with a 92% average, and I now volunteer as a counsellor in the Phoenix Recovery program — walking alongside people still fighting the battles I fought. I'm also completing a Data Analytics diploma and pursuing a Bachelor of Community Development, because I want the skills to solve real problems in my community, not just talk about them.
I founded Wakanda OutReach Centre (W.O.R.C.) and the E.C.H.O.E.S. Initiative for the same reason. I know what it's like to fall through every crack in the system — and I refuse to let others fall through alone.
Why I Built This
Because of my past, traditional doors stayed closed to me. So I stopped waiting for someone to open one, and I built my own — for myself, and for anyone else who's been told they're too far gone.
The Good Life Growth Network is my answer to that struggle: a faith-grounded community built to help everyday people grow their wealth, their health, and their spirit at the same time — without burning out, and without building alone. It's built on referring, not recruiting. No pressure, no chasing strangers — just real people sharing what's actually working in their lives.
My goal is simple and it's bigger than money. I want to become financially free so I can pour everything I have back into the community I once took from. This isn't really about me. It's about what's possible for you when you stop building alone.
